Tavistock is a charming market town of just 12,000 people, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and within easy reach of Plymouth (20 km) and Torbay (40 km) in the south west of England.
It is the birth-place of the famous English explorer Sir Francis Drake.
The many shops, both large and small, offer a wide variety of goods and souvenirs, while the market stalls sell lots of different things from clothes to collectibles.
